Lexington Reveals Inaugural USL Super League Roster

This summer has been full of women’s soccer news in the Bluegrass! Over the last couple of weeks, Lexington Sporting Club has revealed their 2024 USL Super League roster in a series of posts.

On and off the field, the USL Super League provides more exposure for girls—resulting in a stronger game led by fierce women. The USL Super League is a new, Division One professional women’s soccer league kicking off across the country in August 2024.

The USL Super League will sit at the top of the USL’s distinct youth-to-pro women’s pathway. The complete pathway includes the USL W League, the leading pre-professional women’s soccer league in the United States; the USL Academy, an advanced talent-development platform connected to professional and pre-professional USL clubs; and the Super Y League, a premier national youth competition.

Unique to American soccer, USL Super League will play on the “fall-to-summer” calendar traditionally followed around the globe. This ensures players are able to represent their club and country, which allows clubs to actively participate in the emerging global women’s transfer market.

The inaugural Super League season will feature eight teams, including Lexington, with more teams set to join across the nation in following seasons. Moreover, additional markets for the 2025 season will be announced at a later date.

The Gals in Green’s inaugural home match is scheduled on Sunday, September 8, at their brand new stadium. Lexington’s USL Super League squad consists of star studded talent with new and returning players from the W League who are all eager to compete. Attend a match at the club’s brand new stadium and watch the ladies suit up this summer!
