Fresh off clinching a spot in the USL Championship Playoffs, Louisville City FC continues their quest for prime postseason positioning on Wednesday at Miami FC. Kickoff in South Florida is set for 7 p.m. ET.

Currently fourth in the Eastern Conference, a win would boost LouCity to the brink of mathematically securing a home playoff opener. With four games remaining, City are still jostling for seeding against the likes of Tampa Bay, Memphis, and Pittsburgh higher in the table.

This contest opens a three-game road swing to round out a month featuring five of six matches away from Lynn Family Stadium. So far on their travels this season, LouCity boasts a 5-5-3 record.

“Now the focus is on trying to get as many points as we can to finish in the top four,” said defender Kyle Adams. “We know these road games are massive.”

Wednesday’s opponent Miami sits 13th in the East, well outside of playoff contention. However, LouCity coach Danny Cruz is guarding against complacency.

“No game is easy at this point of the year,” he remarked. “Miami is a talented group capable of pulling an upset if we aren’t prepared.”

With their playoff spot now sewn up, City’s mettle will be tested playing with slightly less urgency. Their focus must remain on climbing the table to secure the highest possible postseason seed.

Rotating the squad will also be a priority with matches coming thick and fast. But LouCity knows they still have much to play for in order to enter the playoffs hitting on all cylinders.

The first goal of clinching a playoff berth is complete. Now the boys in purple set their sights on optimizing their chances of postseason glory.
