Racing Louisville is Headed to Colombia for a Historic Women’s Cup

This is so hype – Racing is headed to South America! Our squad will be ballin’ out in Colombia’s first-ever Women’s Cup tournament.

This is a huge honor to represent the NWSL and compete against two of the top clubs in Colombia – América de Cali and Deportivo Cali. We’re making history here folks! Racing Lou will be the first NWSL club to play matches in South America.

The tournament is going down in late February at Estadio Olímpico Pascual Guerrero in Cali, Colombia. A legendary stadium that has hosted the World Cup and Copa America. We’ll be ready to shine on that big stage.

Our first match is a spicy semifinal against América de Cali. They won the Colombian league last year and have multiple players from Colombia’s awesome World Cup squad. This is gonna be a battle, but we got this!

If we take care of business, like we should, we’ll advance to the final against the winner of NJ/NY Gotham FC and Deportivo Cali. Gotham is the defending NWSL champs but Deportivo Cali is no joke either after finishing second in Colombia’s league last season.

For Racing, this is the perfect test before our season starts in March. They made the Challenge Cup final last year, and coach Bev Yanez has built a stacked squad in the offseason.

We’ve got ballers like Savannah DeMelo, Ary Borges, Uchenna Kanu, Abby Erceg, Jaelin Howell and Carson Pickett ready to shine. They’ll be pumped to embrace this chance to grow the game globally and show our skills against South America’s best.

The Women’s Cup has become an awesome event for the top international clubs to compete. In case you did not know, Racing won the first-ever tournament in Louisville in 2021, so it’s only right we help take it to new heights in Colombia this year.

The passionate supporters, looking at you Lavender Legion and others, back home better be ready to wake up early and cheer Racing on from the Commonwealth! This will be must-see football – Racing Louisville making history and getting after it in South America.

Let’s shock the world and come home with that trophy! Racing has the talent, team spirit, and fans to do big things. The stage is set in Colombia for a historic run. Let’s go Racing!
