A Stellar Career From London to the Bluegrass
Hailing from London, England, Lancaster began his youth career at Tottenham Hotspur’s academy, making a Premier League appearance before venturing to fellow English clubs like Dagenham & Redbridge FC, Stevenage FC, and St. Albans City FC. However, it was his move to the United States that truly ignited his career.
Dominating “The Ville” and Beyond
Joining Louisville City FC, Lancaster made an immediate impact, scoring an impressive 36 goals in 79 appearances. His contributions played a crucial role in LouCity’s back-to-back USL Cup victories in 2017 and 2018. A brief stint with Nashville SC saw him continue his goal-scoring prowess, netting five goals in 18 appearances.
Return to Glory in Louisville
Returning to Louisville in 2020, Lancaster went on to become the all-time leading goal-scorer for the club, securing his place as the third all-time in USL Championship regular season history. His remarkable achievements include winning the USL Championship Golden Boot in 2018, earning three Player of the Month titles, and being twice named to the All-League First Team.
Champion’s Ambition Comes to Lexington
Now, Cameron Lancaster brings his championship ambitions to Lexington SC. Expressing his enthusiasm, Lancaster states, “Extremely excited to be joining Lexington. It’s a new chapter for me in my career, and there’s no better place to be with the ambition this club has.”
Coach Powell’s Perspective: A Proven Goal Scorer and Team Player
Lexington SC head coach Darren Powell is equally thrilled about the new addition. He praises Lancaster as a proven goal-scorer in USL, highlighting his success with Louisville and his remarkable ability to finish in and around the box. Coach Powell emphasizes Lancaster’s role as a team player with invaluable experiences that will benefit and lead the younger players on the team.
